Land Clearing Services in the Fraser Valley

With over 21 years of excavation experience, we understand that clearing a property is about more than removing what is in the way. Access, terrain, drainage, existing structures and what will eventually be built on the land all influence how the site should be approached. We work with homeowners, builders and contractors to clear residential lots, acreages and construction sites efficiently while keeping the next phase of the project in mind.

Serving the Fraser Valley

Clearing the way for what comes next.

Every property starts in a different condition. Some sites require brush and vegetation removal before equipment can access the building area, while others need more extensive clearing, stripping and earthwork before construction can begin.

Depending on the property and project, our land clearing services may include:

  • Brush + vegetation clearing
  • Lot clearing
  • Property clearing
  • Site clearing
  • Small tree + shrub removal
  • Stump removal
  • Topsoil stripping
  • Debris removal
  • Access preparation
  • Material removal
  • Rough grading
  • Excavation
  • Building site preparation
  • Driveway preparation

Once the site is cleared, we can also complete excavation, grading, drainage and other site preparation required to move the project forward.

Our Land Clearing Process

1. SITE ASSESSMENT

We begin by reviewing the property, access, terrain, vegetation and the area that needs to be cleared, along with what the site will be used for afterwards.

2. CLEARING PLAN

We determine what needs to be removed, what should remain and how equipment and material will move through the property while considering the next phase of construction or site work.

3. VEGETATION + MATERIAL REMOVAL

Brush, vegetation, stumps and unwanted material are removed from the work area as required, creating safe access and opening the site for further work.

4. STRIPPING + ROUGH GRADING

Where needed, topsoil and unsuitable surface material are stripped and the property is roughly graded to prepare it for excavation, drainage or construction.

5. READY FOR THE NEXT PHASE

Once clearing is complete, the property is left ready for the next stage. When required, we can continue directly into site preparation, excavation, drainage, driveway construction or other earthwork.

When Is Land Clearing Needed?

Land and lot clearing can be the first step in many different property projects.

New home construction + Building sites

Garages + Shops + Additions

Driveways + Property access

Overgrown lots + Acreages

Drainage + Property improvements

Demolition + Redevelopment

Planning the clearing around the future use of the property can reduce unnecessary work and create a smoother transition into excavation and construction.

Why Choose Kerkhoff Excavating + Septic?

21 Years of Experience

More than two decades of excavation experience gives us a practical understanding of how clearing fits into the larger construction and site preparation process.

Experienced Operators

Working around uneven terrain, existing structures and features that need to remain requires control and experience. Our operators approach each property carefully and efficiently.

Professional Equipment

The right equipment makes a significant difference when clearing land. We use professional excavation equipment suited to residential lots, acreages and construction sites.

Rural Property Experience

Acreages and rural properties can involve steep terrain, dense vegetation, difficult access and large work areas. We understand the challenges that come with preparing these sites.

More Than Clearing

When the vegetation is gone, the real site work often begins. We can continue with excavation, drainage, grading, septic work and site preparation rather than leaving the property between stages.

Site-Specific Planning

We consider what the property will become, not simply what needs to be removed. This helps us approach clearing with the future building site, access and grades in mind.

Clear Communication

We discuss the scope of work before clearing begins so there is a clear understanding of what will be removed, what will remain and what comes next.

Land Clearing for New Construction

If you’re preparing an undeveloped property for a new home, shop, garage or other construction, land clearing is often the beginning of a much larger site preparation process.

After clearing the building area, additional work may include topsoil stripping, excavation, cut and fill, building pad preparation, drainage, driveway construction, septic installation and grading. Because we provide these services as well, the property can move naturally from clearing into the next phase of construction.

Ready to Clear Your Property?

Whether you’re opening up an overgrown lot, preparing an acreage for construction or getting ready to build a new home, shop or garage, we can help create a clean starting point for the work ahead.
